Enclosed is an original letter to your governor requesting issuance of an official proclamation designating January 2008 as Opticians Month in your state.
 
Many states now require that requests for proclamations be made by or in conjunction with an in-state organization.  Recognizing that fact, and with the thought that you might like to forward the request with a letter of your own, we are sending the letter and its enclosures to you.  If you want to participate in this way in the observance of National Opticians Month, please forward the letter to the Governor as soon as possible.  It usually takes eight to ten weeks for a proclamation to be issued.
